All insulation and jacket materials have a maximum temperature rating that has been derived from industry standard accelerated aging testing.
These tests were developed to simulate the lifecycle of one product generation or 20 to 25 years. Thus, we would expect most products to have a lifetime of 20 to 25 years when installed and used within the details on the product’s specification sheet.
For storage, we would expect 20 to 25 year storage life when stored in accordance with the applicable and less demanding low and high temperature limits outlined below:
1. Temperature range on wood/cardboard spools: -40° C to 105° C Temperature range on Plastic spools: -40° C to 75° C
2. The operating temperature range on the datasheet.
